Gen Z in the Insurance Profession: How the Next Generation will Transform the Insurance Profession
Session Description: This course will provide attendees with the foundation of the mindset of Gen Z clients and workers and the conditions that have shaped them. Generation Z are people born between the years 1995 – 2012. We will review events that have occurred leading up to Gen Z being at the age of majority to enter into the workforce. We will review their sources of income and savings/spending habits. We will also dive into 7 different traits that Gen Z possess that will make them great Insurance Professionals and Insurance Clients. We will discuss how to recruit Gen Z workers into our offices, how to work with them as clients and how the products we sell need to change to fit the Gen Z mindset. Finally, we will review the uniqueness of technology with Gen Z and how this will propel the Insurance Profession further than it’s ever gone.

Longevity: Real Life Challenges During Retirement
Session Description: This presentation addresses challenges faced by retirees, with emphasis on longevity, health care costs, widowhood, caregiving, and legacy. The perspective is that, while it may not be possible to prevent these real-life events, it is often possible to prepare for them financially and thereby lessen their impact. Producers will learn how these challenges can affect their clients over a 20- to 30-year planning horizon. This will give them a better perspective of what their clients think will happen in the future versus the probabilities of what may really happen. The perspective of the impact of multiple challenges and how they impact a client’s overall retirement picture will help producers make their client conversations more meaningful and actionable.
